Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul will tomorrow rule on the admissibility of statements that police say were given by Daymeion Millington, one of the five accused in the robbery of Justice Nicola Pierre and her family.
Millington, Nicholas Narine, Premnauth Samaroo, Warren McKenzie and Anthony David are on trial for allegedly robbing the judge and her husband, Mohammed Chan, of cash and articles amounting to over $3.6 million, as well as shooting at security guard Ron Peters on July 9, 2015.
Special prosecutor in the case Nigel Hughes concluded his evidence yesterday in the voir dire being conducted by the court to determine the admissibility of the statements. Police officer Enoch Chesney was the last witness to take the stand for the prosecution.
Like Millington, McKenzie is also contending that he gave statements to the police.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to tomorrow for a ruling.
