Dear Editor,
On March 3, 2016 I went to the Mackenzie hospital in Linden after returning to Guyana to have surgery done here on the recommendation of my sister.
The treatment I received from the moment I stepped into the Mackenzie hospital was excellent in every respect and I have to give credit where it is due. The entire staff at the hospital was concerned about my wellbeing and it showed not only during the check-in process, but while I was waiting in the emergency walk-in room. Understanding my pain, the doctor who was on duty took the appropriate measures to ease it and proceeded with the necessary tests to determine my condition.
Two days later my surgery was done. The doctors, nurses and staff were very professional, respectful, kind and caring, as well as appearing calm and efficient. I was very impressed with the services and treatment. The staff are a perfect example of excellent organization and teamwork. They have set the bar very high in the medical community and I would like to see that kind of first-class nursing care provided at every hospital in the country.
In closing, I would to take this opportunity to say a special thanks to the surgical term, the head of the male ward, Sister Cheryl Williams, and all the wonderful nurses, doctors, family and friends that treated me while I was in the Mackenzie hospital.
Yours faithfully,
Rayvonne P Bourne
