A teenager appeared in court yesterday to answer to a charge that he stole $1,000 during an armed robbery and he was remanded to prison.
The court heard that on March 12th, in Georgetown, Michael Bishop, 18, armed with an ice pick, robbed Garvell Pablo of $1,000. Bishop was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which was read to him by Magistrate Alex Moore.
Magistrate Moore told the court that since the prosecution’s file was incomplete, they would need at least a week to gather enough evidence to make a case against him and until then Bishop would have to be remanded to prison.
According to Bishop, when the police held him for armed robbery, he was searched and the ranks never found the money on him. Nevertheless, Bishop’s was refused bail and the matter was adjourned until March 22nd.
