Fresh from winning the Masters title at this year’s Masters tournament in Florida, United States of America, Floodlight Masters softball cricket team will be the spearhead of three teams representing the
Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association Easter Sunday in Berbice. According to a press release from the GFSCA, they will field three teams, Floodlights Legends, Floodlights and Trophy Stall Angels at this Sunday’s tournament at Crabwood Creek.
The three teams will battle with Crabwood Creek/Corriverton Masters, Crabwood Creek Open and Karibee Girls.
Last week-end Floodlights played undefeated at the 2016 Florida Cup Masters tournament in Fort Lauderdale, USA defeating New York Better Hope, Tri-State Masters, local team Regal in the preliminary round, Orlando Florida in the semi-finals and South Florida in the final to take the title. The finals was played at USA only cricket stadium in Fort Lauderhill.
These three feature 15/15 overs softball matches playing this Sunday at the Crabwood Creek cricket ground are being held as a fundraiser for the renovation of the washroom of the Crabwood Creek Primary School. Matches will start at 9:30am and conclude at 6pm. Admission is $200 and there will be over 50 gate prizes to be won by spectators.
