Dear Editor,
Now that President Obama has taken the daring and statesmanlike stand of visiting the friendly communist island of Cuba with his lovely family he should do likewise as soon as he gets back at his Oval Office desk, by fearlessly and boldly withdrawing America’s illegal grip on Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay as it belongs to the Cuban people.
The economic blockade is another obstacle which must be removed as it is also a most important obstacle for the economic development and well-being of the ordinary Cuban people. Its elimination will be essential to a normalization of relations; it is an unfair policy which was imposed on the island and its people over fifty years ago, and which has had devastating effects and still does on the lives of ordinary Cuban citizens.
Yours faithfully,
Rooplall Dudhnath
