Dear Editor,
The Certificate of Election issued by a Returning Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom) in Region Six to Ms Gumattie Kumar, elected councillor of the Ordnance/Fort Lands #38 NDC in Cumberland, Canje which has been stamped and signed by the officer, contains spelling and punctuation errors (copy provided).
This again speaks volumes of Gecom’s standards and what is considered acceptable. The PRO of Gecom went on a tirade attacking me in a reply to one of my letters, so I wonder what she will have to say about this other matter.
