Order and Discipline FC, Black Pearl FC and Sophia Wolves secured contrasting victories when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Division-1 League commenced on Sunday at the Eve Leary ground.
Order and Discipline marked to step up to the senior ranks with a commanding 5-2 win over East Ruimveldt unit Black Water. Shamar Barrow opened the scoring for Order and Discipline compliments of a 23rd minute strike.
The lead ballooned to 2-0 seven minutes onward as Seon Taylor scored his first of two goals. Raphael Collier further strengthened the position of the newcomers, etching his name on the scorer’s sheet through a 36th minute strike.
On the back foot for most of the contest, Black Water eventually pulled one back in the 47th as Junior Thomas scored. However the conversion proved to be a brief respite as Roy Sautor scored in the 70th minute to make it 4-1.
Order and Discipline completed their tally for the contest as Taylor scored his double with a 72nd minute effort. The losers netted a second consolation goal one minute onward in the form of Ovid Barrow.
Meanwhile, Black Pearl overcame Houston Stars by a 1-0 score line in a cagey encounter. Mark Correga was the difference on the day as netted in the 69th minute.
On the other hand, Sophia Wolves clawed their way past Eastveldt by a 2-1 score line. Action in the event is slated to continue at the same venue on April 10th with another three matches.
