Holland’s nomination as the tenth mayor of the town was uncontested as was that of Waneka Arrindell, who was duly elected as Deputy Mayor. Town Clerk Jenella Bowen was the returning officer.

The other members of the town council are Fern McKoy, Keeran Williams, Collin Anderson, Neola Rogers, Wainwright Bethune, Devin Sears, Leroy James, Lennox Gaspar, Eleze Benjamin, Rawl Friday, Nikeza Noel, Derron John and Deryck Collins. The APNU+AFC coalition won all of the seats on the council.

Speaking briefly after the election, Holland stated that strong towns build strong regions, and strong regions build strong a country. With the help of his council, Linden will be a strong town, he added.

Holland said he once complimented President David Granger on the good work that he is doing and in return the President said to him, “‘I’m only doing my part so that the young people like you can take this country forward.’” Those humble words were my encouragement,” Holland added.

Observing the election were former mayor Stanley smith, interim management committee chairman Orin Gordon, Minister in the Ministry of Communities Valerie Sharpe-Patterson, Regional Chairman Rennis Morian, former councillors and a room filled with well-wishers.
