The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) yesterday seized two vehicles belonging to the Chinese company, Baishanlin from its Providence, East Bank Demerara office.
The seizure, sources say, is due to the mining and logging company’s failure to pay import taxes on the two luxury vehicles.
The two vehicles, a Lexus SUV licence number PRR 2888 and Nissan mini-van licence number PRR-3888 are presently being held at GRA’s Eccles storage bond.
Yesterday’s seizure occurred days after it was alleged that officers were prevented from carrying it out by Minister of State Joseph Harmon.
