Shots were yesterday fired at a police vehicle while it was traversing James Street in Albouystown. No one was injured.
Stabroek News understands that as the canter occupied by a group of police ranks passed through the street, shots were fired by a lone gunman. The ranks returned fire but the gunman escaped.
One resident of the community, told Stabroek News that he was standing in front of a shop when he heard the gunshots. He said as the police vehicle was approaching Victoria Street, the gunman opened fire and the police turned back and fired shots.
