The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will meet in the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) first- division two-day competition after securing first innings points in their respective semi-final encounters over the weekend.
At the DCC ground, the hometeam, batting first, scored 301 all out with Brian Sattaur, 70, Chris Barnwell, 68, and Sherfane Rutherford, 52, the principal scorers.
Vishaul Singh, 3-40, Raymon Reifer, 2-60 and Anthony Adams, 2-75 were the main wicket-takers.
GCC, in reply, were dismissed for 217 with left-arm spinner Totaram Bishun capturing 4-49 and Paul Wintz, 3-46.
Vishaul Singh top scored with 74 while all-rounder Ronaldo Ali-Mohammed was left not out on 29.
With a lead of 68, DCC batting a second time made 300-4 with West Indies U19 opener Tevin Imlach slamming a century when the game was called off.
Imlach struck 13 fours and one six in making 111.
Vishaul Singh bagged two wickets.
Over at Camp Ayanganna, the host team, batting first scored 191 with Jeremiah Harris, 48 and Akeem Hinds, 37 the principal scorers.
Gudakesh Motie, 4-42, Raun Johnson 3-34 and Gajanand Suknanand 2-64 were the wicket takers for GNIC who, in reply, were dismissed for 127.
Kurt Lovell (35) and former national batsman Gajanand Singh (30) were the top scorers as leg-spinner Andre O’Neil bagged 3-7 Berbician Kevin Ramdeen (2-4) and Colin Hamer (2-28).
In the second innings GDF ended on 204 for 5 after Akeem Hinds (70), Guyana Jaguars Academy wicket-keeper/batsman Dexter Solomon (58) and Ramdeen (38) all chipped to ensure their team had acquired the necessary qualification points when play was called off.
Guyana Jaguars Assistant/Coach Rayon Griffith was the pick of the GNIC bowlers with 2-19 while Jaguars left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie (1-33) and national pacer Raun Johnson (1-6) also made inroads.
