Essequibo seeks to upset favourite teams

West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul will lead the Essequibo U19 team’s quest for honours when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Hand-in-Hand-sponsored three day U19 Inter-County tournament commences.

Paul, who played key roles with bat and ball in the West Indies U19 team’s historic one day World Cup triumph will seek to have his Essequibo team upset traditional favourite teams Demerara and Berbice and land the coveted U19 trophy.

Paul’s Essequibo team will face off against Berbice this morning at the Enterprise Community Development Centre ground while Demerara will play an Under17 Select XI in the other opening round clash at Wales.
