Dear Editor,
I refer to an article both in the Sunday Stabroek and the Online News Source in which Mr. Imran Khan, Director of NCN, is saying that the CEO’s infraction over 20 years ago must disqualify him from employment even though he has been of good character ever since.
Is Mr. Khan aware that the Guyana National Shipping Corporation issued public advisories for the person who is in charge of the billion dollar D’urban Park project to make contact with them? Does he believe they want to invite him to dinner? Is Mr. Khan aware that an alleged child molester sits at City Hall? Is he aware that the Town Clerk was charged for an offence some time ago? Did Mr. Khan object to Mr. Cornette’s appointment at NCN when the Board met on the grounds that he had no broadcast experience? Did Mr. Khan insist on broadcast experience being mandatory when the advertisement was being done, and if not, why not?
How could you introduce new criteria after the candidates have been evaluated? Has Mr. Khan considered that Mr. Woolford owns a rival news cast? Would he have sold this and if not how will you deal with the conflict?
And finally Mr Khan, do you have any idea who publicly embarrassed the current CEO by hanging out her remuneration package in the Chronicle?
Yours faithfully,
