Member of Parliament (MP) Bishop Juan Edghill has been charged over a derelict vehicle that the city says is blocking a parapet.
Edghill, who is a sitting member of the National Assembly for the opposition PPP/C, is alleged to have blocked a parapet along Sugar Cane Street, South Ruimveldt, with the vehicle on March 7.
According to the prosecution, on the day in question, when asked by a City Constable, Edghill admitted ownership of the neglected vehicle, which had its four wheels deflated and grass growing around it.
It was stated that the MP was then given two weeks to remove it but this was not done, hence the charge. A not guilty plea was on Monday entered by Edghill, who was released on self-bail.
April 25 is the next date for this matter to be heard.
