Eastveldt and Buxton Stars secured contrasting wins when the Fruta Conquerors u-19 Championship continued yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.
Eastveldt downed Order and Discipline 3-1 in the feature contest to move to three points from one match while the losers remain without a point from one fixture.
In the opening fixture of the day, Buxton Stars edged Fruta Conquerors-B 1-0 to gain three points from one matchup while Fruta Conquerors-B remain without a point from one fixture.
On Saturday at the same venue, Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Fruta Conquerors-A secured contrasting wins. The Bourda based unit made light work of Alpha United as they romped to a comfortable 5-1 result.
It was the first fixture in the event for both teams. Due to the result, GFC moved to three points while the losers are yet to score a point. On the other hand, the tourney hosts were made to work for their win as they downed an improved Black Pearl 2-0.
With the result, the Tucville unit moved to six points from two matches while the losers remain without a point.
The event which features eight teams, will be played in a round-robin format. Each win is worth three points while a drawn matchup is worth one point.
Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams will progress to the knockout round. All matches will be staged at the Tucville venue on Saturdays and Sundays.
