A number of people received treatment at a medical outreach organised by the US Embassy’s Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) and local community groups at the Zeelugt Primary School on Sunday.
Program Director Eric Antunucci told Stabroek News that patients received drugs for various illnesses, at the pharmacy set up at the venue, including diabetes and hypertension. The drugs were provided by the US Embassy. They also benefited from HIV counselling and testing.
Antunucci said the idea was to help as many people as possible and he was grateful to the 10 doctors who came out and volunteered their free time,
