Dear Editor,
First, I welcome the planned activities for the upcoming 50th anniversary our country will be celebrating next month.
This government has done a great job in terms of planning events that has Guyanese at home and abroad buzzing in excitement so much so to the extent that our brothers and sisters living in other countries are willing to spend a fortune to come and be part of such a grand occasion.
However, I am disappointed in the sanitary conditions of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. Now come on, that’s the first place our visitors will be passing through when they come back home and that’s the deplorable conditions they will be met with. It seems as though nobody is cleaning that place because it’s very filthy. Who is in charge of that facility, which Minister this responsibility falls under? Come on we can do better, we don’t want people to start turning up their nose from the airport because our government has done a fine job in cleaning up so far. Our country is moving forward in a positive light so let’s keep it clean so we can continue to make a difference and strive together.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Daniels
