The ‘Sport of Kings’ returns to Bush Lot United Club tomorrow with the staging of the Labour Day six-race classic.
In excess of $4M will be on offer for the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables organized event which is scheduled to attract most of Guyana’s premier trotters.
California Strike, Princess She Is Not, Red and Lovely and Run Na Na Run are some of the big names scheduled to be in the starting gate for the feature D and Lower one mile event which fetches an appetizing $800,000 first prize.
The handlers of the winning steed will also be presented with the large champion’s trophy compliments of the Trophy Stall which was presented to Nasrudeen Mohamed (Jumbo Jet Jr.) on Thursday by Devi Sunich (wife of the CEO of the Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich).
Other events carded include: the three year old race for West Indies Bred horses over 1400M for a winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy.
The H3 maidens and four year old horses and non-earners in the last six months over 1400 meters for a winning purse of $250,000.
The G1 and lower 1200M race for $350,000.
The winner of the K and lower 1200M race has a winning purse of $200,000 and a trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower 1000M event has a pole position taking of $100,000 and trophy.
Trophies will also be awarded to the champion jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer compliments of the Trophy Stall and the organizers.
Tomorrow’s event will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
