The Guyana Revenue Authority says an extension has been granted for the submission of tax returns. The original deadline was April 30th, the new deadline is May 13th.
In an advisory, the GRA said that due to the challenges being experienced by taxpayers as a result of the changes on the Income Tax Return Form, the Minister of Finance Winston Jordan has given the Commissioner-General of the GRA permission to grant an extension.
As such, for the year of assessment 2016, taxpayers have up to May 13 after which a 2% late penalty applies.
