President’s College, Bishops’ and St. Rose’s High Schools secured wins in the u-14 boys section when the National Schools Basketball Festival (NSBF) Georgetown and East Coast Regionals’ continued Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
President’s College edged Marian Academy 25-24. Rakin McDonald led the way with nine points and three rebounds while Richard Semple chipped in with seven points. For Marian Academy, Corey Graham recorded 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Jether Harris scored nine points.
Meanwhile, St. Rose’s High crushed Queen’s College 29-10. Timothy Richards top scored in the rout with 10 points while Tyrone Singh and Duwon Younge scored seven and six points apiece. On the other side, Lugard Mohan Jr., played a lone hand of nine points.
Similarly, St. Rose’s High dismissed Plaisance Secondary 24-3. Jaheem Barton and Shamar Bristol were the main scorers for the winning team with eight and five points respectively while Kurt Sampson registered two points for the losers.
In the girls division, Bishops’ High crushed fierce rival Queen’s College 18-5 with Sileena Arjune, Kesann Charles and Jayla Jonas netted six, four and four points each while Rebecca Persaud and Sandhya Indarjeet scored two points each for the losing team.
In another female encounter, Tutorial High defeated Charlestown Secondary 8-1. Denique Ross scored four points while Afisha Brutus and Natisha Nurse scored two points apiece. For the losers, Ramona Barnes was the only scorer.
