The newly crowned Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Road to Mecca champions Colts on Saturday collected their winnings at a presentation ceremony staged at Palm Court on Main Street.
The Georgetown team received the championship trophy and pocketed $500,000 after dismissing Retrieve Raiders 75-55 in the final.
The Linden unit for their effort, received $250,000 and the corresponding accolade.
Meanwhile, Pacesetters defeated former champion Ravens 78-75 to clinch the third position. Due to the result, Pacesetters pocketed $150,000 and the respective accolade while the losers collected $100,000 and the corresponding accolade.
In the individual section of the awards, Colts’ rising star Stanton Rose copped the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award while Pacesetters’ Travis Burnett won the most points scored title after accumulating 66 points.
The Best Defensive Player accolade went to Retrieve Raiders Dwayne Roberts while Dane Kendall of Colts was adjudged the Best Coach.
