Darren Eddie, a carpenter who was charged last month with having an unlicensed gun and ammunition, has been released on bail by the High Court.
The charge against Eddie stated that on April 15, in Georgetown, he had in his possession a 9mm Glock pistol, 35 9mm rounds of ammunition and 26 rounds of .32 calibre ammunition.
Attorney-at-law Clyde Forde, who appeared on behalf of Eddie, stated that bail was granted by the High Court in the sum of $450,000.
Magistrate Fabayo Azore warned Eddie that although he is granted bail, it can be revoked if he failed to make court appearances.
During Eddie’s first court appearance, on April 19, the court heard that the firearm and ammunition were found in the yard of a residence where Eddie and three other persons reside.
However, his attorney had stated that the officers went into Eddie’s yard and allegedly found the illegal items in a septic tank that was covered with a piece of wood.
The case has been adjourned to June 16.
