A man who was found by the police pushing a motorcycle that he allegedly stole was granted bail when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan last week.
It is alleged that between April 30 and May 1, at East Ruimveldt, Emanuel Lorry, of Lot 10 East La Penitence, stole a motorcycle valued $160,000 from Isaac Booker. Lorry pleaded not guilty to the charge that was read to him by Magistrate McLennan.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail based on the gravity of the charge. According to Jones the bike was recovered by the police as they spotted the defendant pushing it along in Roxanne Burnham Gardens.
Lorry was subsequently placed on $75,000 bail and was ordered to return to court on May 27 by the Chief Magistrate.
