The Board of Directors of the National Communications Network (NCN) yesterday announced the appointment of Ron Robinson as Programme Manager.
NCN also announced that Tishikta De Costa has been appointed as Human Resources (HR) Manager. Both appointments took effect from May 3rd.
A release from NCN said that based on the current revitalisation process underway at NCN, Robinson, a veteran broadcaster, emerged the most suitable candidate following a shortlist and interview process conducted by members of the Board and a professional human resources consultant.
“He brings to the network more than 40 years’ of experience in radio and television, cumulatively, and a wealth of knowledge pertaining to …Guyana’s broadcast landscape, training and production management”, the release said.
Prior to her appointment, the release said that De Costa also went through a similar interview process. She previously worked in the Human Resources Division of the Audit Office, Guyana Revenue Authority and Unicomer. She brings to the network approximately eight years’ experience in recruitment, staff welfare, people management and HR strategic planning and budgeting.
NCN recently came under criticism over its hiring of Lennox Cornette as the CEO. Disagreement at the level of the board subsequently led to the resignation of one of its members, Imran Khan, the government’s Director of Public Information.
