The residents of Kissoon Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara are calling on the relevant authorities to repair the deplorable road in their community.
Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday, a concerned citizen who preferred not to be named said the condition of the road is worsening as the rainy season steps in. He said he has made several complaints to the relevant authorities including to the Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) but nothing was ever done about the situation.
The man said the road is so bad that even vehicles are not driven through the street on a regular basis owing to the damage it may cause. The street is one which houses several shops and even a school.
The resident said when it rains the situation is far worse since the deep potholes are filled with water. He is therefore calling on the relevant authorities to at least do some repairs. He described the road situation as “overbearing”.
