A Lacytown man, who was reportedly shot at when apprehended by the owner of a store it is alleged he broke and entered, was yesterday granted $100,000 bail by a city court.
Leon Obermuller, 43, yesterday denied breaking and entering the store belonging to Michelle Ramnarine on April 27th, at Croal Street and Brummel Place with the intent to commit a felony.
The prosecution objected to bail, citing the nature and penalty of the crime and stating that Obermuller is a flight risk.
On the day in question, he said, the complainant received a call from MMC security that the store had been breached. When he arrived, he proceeded to the upper-flat, where he was approached by the accused. The complainant then discharged three rounds, suffering injuries in the process.
Obermuller was, however, placed on $100,000 bail and the matter has been adjourned to June 2nd for statements.
