PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC-Trinidad and Tobago spinner Kavesh Kantasingh and Guyana’s Royston Crandon grabbed five wickets each to put Powergen in control against Tableland on the first day of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board three-day tournament Monday.
West Indies cricketer Evin Lewis also shared the limelight, scoring an unbeaten half century to ensure Powergen secured a 19 run first innings lead in Penal.
Lewis has been in good form recently for Trinidad & Tobago, scoring 221 runs in six matches in the Nagico Super 50 tournament, including one century and a half century.
Left-arm spinner Kantasingh finished with five for 49 while right arm off break bowler Crandon ended with five for 50, as Tableland were bundled for 123.
PowerGen were cruising on 142 without loss at the close with Lewis unbeaten on 74 and Videsh Sookhai 63 not out.
