After several days of frustration, two LIAT passengers are now thankful that the situation concerning the delayed arrival of their luggage is slowly being rectified.
On Tuesday, this newspaper carried the complaints of passengers who were frustrated by what they described as an unreasonable delay of their luggage following their arrival in Guyana several days ago.
Vanessa Moses, along with her husband, was left to make do with the clothes with which they arrived in Guyana as they anxiously awaited the arrival of their suitcases. The two had arrived at the Eugene F Correia International Airport last Sunday having travelled from the United Kingdom to participate in the ongoing jubilee celebrations.
But much to their disappointment, their luggage which consisted of two suitcases had not arrived.
A similar situation was shared by Paula (only name given) who, prior to speaking to Stabroek News flew into Guyana aboard a LIAT flight from Barbados minus her suitcase. She related that this was not the first time she has experienced this situation since LIAT left her in a similar situation last December when she travelled to Guyana for a relative’s wedding.
Contacted yesterday, Moses related that she and her husband had since received one of their two suitcases and she was expecting the second one to arrive today.
All attempts to contact representatives of LIAT for a comment on the situation were futile.
