Dear Editor,
I want to personally thank President Granger for causing to be released a former prisoner called Davendra Persaud, who was on remand for some 267 weeks without access to a fair trial.
Now this man partially lost his eyesight due to actions taken by the state as it recovered control of the Georgetown Prison. It is only fair that the state foot his bill to ensure he can have access to eye surgery that can possibly help him to recover his eyesight. I am surprised that the mainstream media has not reported on this issue.
A wrong was done to Mr Persaud and it needs to be corrected by the State of Guyana.
Yours faithfully,
Sase Singh
