Attorney Gaumattie Singh has been charged with dangerous driving after she allegedly caused a three-vehicle collision.
The court of heard that on May 13, at Success, East Coast Demerara, Singh, 60, of Prashad Nagar, drove motor car PSS 9309 in a manner dangerous to the public. Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to her by Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul.
Police Prosecutor Ayesha Gibbons related to the court that Singh was negotiating a turn when she collided with a vehicle, which then collided with another vehicle at Success, causing a three-vehicle collision. No one was seriously hurt.
Appearing on behalf of Singh were attorneys Adrian Thompson and Nigel Hughes. The two lawyers moved to have Singh released on her own recognisance.
Gibbons did not object to bail.
The magistrate subsequently granted self-bail to Singh and the matter was adjourned until June 28 for report.
