The reclusive pensioner whose bloated body was discovered at his East Canje Village home, died as a result of a heart attack.
This is according to the results of the post-mortem examination conducted by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh on the badly decomposed body of Henry Gobin, which was discovered in the lower flat of his house at Lot 325 Brehaspat Street, Number Two Village, East Canje, after he was not seen for two weeks.
Following the discovery, the police were alerted, and although the cops had initially given permission to have the remains buried, the investigators later recanted their decision and request that a post mortem examination be conducted.
Relatives of the deceased were then given the body for burial.
The 74-year-old man had been described by neighbours and relatives as “a man who kept to himself.”
Paul Gobin, the dead man’s nephew, said, “He never really talked with us. My father was murdered many years ago and my uncle never really had us come around him. All I recall was that he was a Head Teacher at some school at Port Mourant, on the Corentyne.
