BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Current Test players Shai Hope and Jomel Warrican will feature for Barbados when a Select XI take on West Indies in two day/night 50-over games today and Friday here this week.
The two matches are part of the ongoing West Indies camp which started here last weekend, in preparation for the next month’s Tri-Nations Series against World champions, Australia, and South Africa.
The right-handed Hope has played six Tests with an average of 15 while Warrican, a left-arm spinner, has claimed 11 wickets from four Tests.
Left-handed opener Omar Phillips, who played two Tests for West Indies seven years ago, will captain the squad for the second game scheduled for 3Ws Oval at 2 pm.
The side for today’s first game at Kensington Oval will be led by former West Indies A all-rounder, Kevin Stoute.
West Indies will raise the curtain on the June 3-26 next week Friday when they take on South Africa at the Guyana National Stadium.
The first leg of the tournament will be played in Guyana, with Warner Park in St Kitts hosting the second leg and Kensington Oval here providing the stage for the climax.
