A motorcyclist died last night after he was involved in an accident on the Good Hope, East Coast Demerara public road at around 8:15 pm.
Karamchand `Bobby’ Singh, 44, a joiner, of 576 Block 8, Mon Repos, collided with a Toyota X-Trail on the railway embankment.
The details of the accident are unclear.
Singh was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
When Stabroek News arrived on the scene last night, the mangled parts of the motorcycle CG 4185 were less than two feet away from the Toyota X-trail PSS 9646. The entire front of the X-Trail was damaged.
Traffic officers were also on the scene conducting investigations. One officer behaved unprofessionally, using expletives after a family member unknowingly touched a piece of evidence on the scene.
This newspaper was told that Singh was heading home from a birthday celebration in Lusignan when the accident occurred.
