A two-day expo at the Pegasus Hotel, which followed the launch of Guyana Fashion Week last weekend, also facilitated the local presentation of Selwyn Collins’s spiritual well-being book, The eartHeart Knows.
Guyana Fashion Week was launched as part of the Jubilee fashion extravaganza at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre, Liliendaal, featuring over 20 designers. The over last weekend 30 exhibitors showcased at the two-day beauty and fashion expo at the Pegasus. The public had a chance to purchase local designers’ clothing and also place orders.
A wide variety of hair and makeup products were on sale including Chi, L’Oréal, Mac and other top quality brands. Patrons enjoyed free makeovers.
Rupununi Essence, a facial cleanser which had a soft launch recently, was also on display.
Among the visitors from the diaspora was Guyanese-born actress CCH Pounder.
The David Rose School for Special Needs displayed 50 pieces of fabric and some of these are still available for sale at the school.
Collins signed copies of his book for patrons following the launch.
