Dear Editor,
President Barack Obama will certainly go down in history as one of the greatest and most enlightened presidents of the United States.
He has done what other presidents were either unwilling or unable to do, such as restoring diplomatic relations with Cuba and visiting countries which were at one time considered arch enemies of the United States, such as Cuba and Vietnam.
His most recent visit to Hiroshima where eighty thousand lives were almost instantaneously lost when the US dropped an atom bomb in 1945 is commendable, even though he fell short of an apology for the atrocities committed against the Japanese people.
President Obama is leaving the White House in November with a rich legacy of reaching out to peoples all across the political and ideological divide.
Yours faithfully,
Hydar Ally
