DC Jammers concluded their four match Goodwill Basketball series in the perfect manner, defeating Road to Mecca holders Colts by an 80-70 margin on Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
It was the second defeat for Colts in the series as they went down 93-78 in the prior contest. Winston Robinson and Glenn Stokes led the winners with 15 points each while Stephon Farley chipped in with 10 points.
For the loser, Nikoloi Smith shit his way to a game high 21 points while fellow imports Ryan Gullen and Jermaine Slater recorded 11 and nine points correspondingly.
The first period witnessed Jammers taking the early lead as they outshot Colts 15-14. Their advantage was then build upon in the second period, scoring 33 points to Colts 18 points to head into the halftime interval ahead at 48-32.
Jammers further strengthened their position in the pivotal third quarter, outscoring Colts 14-11 to lead by a 62-43 as score line going into the final period.
With a sizeable lead at their disposal, the visiting side clinched the contest despite being outscored 27-18 in the final period.
Meanwhile, GT Masters defeated the Diplomatic Corps 61-47 in an exhibition encounter. DC Jammers are expected to depart local shores today.
