50 educators honoured for excellence

Fifty past and present educators were today honoured at a special award ceremony at the National Cultural Centre for outstanding performance, GINA said.

The event organised by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with School of the Nations, recognised 44 teachers, (four each, from the 11 school districts,) and six (6) education officials.

The teachers honoured include: from Region One; Cindy Iesha Bourne, Edward Inniss, Ingrid Jeffrey and Lizan Fernandes; from Region Two; Dhanwattie Persaud, Jeneffer Agatha Drakes, Pearlette Veronica Bholo and Veronica Pansy Jones; from Region Three; Denise Zelina Dazzell, Juliet Elizabeth Augustus, Shaundell Nicola Fresco and Verna Johnson; from Region Four; Indrani Ramnarine, Lesmeine Denise Collins, Maureen Allison Philadelphia and Pamela Browne.

Also honoured were teachers From Region Five; Cindy Marsha Nelson, Clavil Ann-Letitia Mitchell, Lalta Paul and Mauricia Areka Semple; from Region Six; Deoharie Narine, Roquel Alicia Saul, Savitri Marimootoo and Yevonne Hazel Mc Almon; from Region Seven; Ann Elaine Williams-Holmes, Carmel Williams, Pamela June Daniels and Paulette Evadney Peters; from Region Eight; Barry Don Joe, Mariam Edwin, Odessa Nadira Paul and Shauneille Jourdain; from Region Nine; Cousma Mary Frank, Lennox Thyrian Henry, Loreen Jarvis and Virgil Harding; from Region Ten; Charlyn Duke Agard, Judith Forde, Rita Fox and Vernelle Razacks Giles;  and from Georgetown; Allison Melanie Cosbert, Ayanna Tanisha Williams, Diane Peters and Sharon Angela Trotman.

Carl Benn, Donna Chapman, Doodmattie Singh, Francesa Vieira, Genevieve Whyte-Nedd and Savitri Balbahadur were the six education officials that were presented with awards.
