The Bright Up Guyana competition was judged on May 29, 2016 and the Ministry of Agriculture shone in two categories.
According to a Ministry of Education press release on Tuesday, the Ministry of Agriculture placed first in the non-commercial Decorated Building Category while two Ministry of Education buildings at 21 and 26 Brickdam placed second and third. The Hydrometeorological Office placed first in the non-commercial Decorated & Illuminated Building Category while the Ministry of Public Health placed second.
In the commercial category, GUYOIL was declared as having the best decorated building and Palm Court was judged as having the best decorated and illuminated building, while NT Computeac placed second.
For schools, the best and second best decorated buildings were the Sophia Special School and Winfer Gardens Primary respectively.
The award for best parapet in the Non-commercial category went to the Ministry of Agriculture. Mr and Mrs Roy Geddes won first place for the best parapet in the Residence category, while Vibert and Alexander Belle placed second.
Neilson Nurse was judged as having the best decorated building in the Residence category while Vibert and Alexander Belle won in the Decorated and Illuminated Building category. Mr and Mrs Roy Geddes and Kathleen Nurse placed second and third respectively.
