Three youths including a minor were yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with sexually assaulting a woman.
The allegation against Seon Alexander of Blueberry Hill, Linden; Anthony Van Demburg of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden and the minor is that at Kwakwani, Upper Demerara/Berbice, they sexually penetrated a young woman contrary to the Sexual Offences Act. They were not required to plead to the indictable charge which was read to them by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The matter was called in-camera and the trio was represented by attorney Moti Singh.
Police Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick objected to bail being granted. The magistrate subsequently denied bail to the defendants and ordered that they return today to Court One.
