After managing to evade the police for almost two months, Keon Hyles who was wanted for questioning in relation to the attempted murder of his reputed wife yesterday turned himself into the police.
Stabroek News was reliably informed that Hyles called `Brains’ turned himself into the police at the Brickdam Police station yesterday morning. He was taken into custody and is assisting with investigations. He is expected to be charged before the end of this week.
The Guyana Police Force had issued a wanted bulletin for Hyles on May 21 after he allegedly attempted to end the life of Michelle Drennon at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown around 6pm on April 20.
During the incident, Drennon of Lot 1607 Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was stabbed at least four times about her body—to her back, upper chest and above her shoulder.
She was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remained for almost three weeks before being discharged on May 11. The incident has left the mother of one severely traumatized.
Drennon’s family expressed satisfaction yesterday after he turned himself in, while noting that they are one step closer to receiving justice.
