Classes run by the Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (GCUSA) to help prepare students for preliminary examinations are set to commence tomorrow at the Demerara Cricket Club from 5pm.
According to a press release, the classes, geared to prepare students for the upcoming examinations, are open to the public.
New and aspiring umpires, current and inactive umpires, players, coaches, cricket administrators and journalists who wish to ascertain themselves with the laws of cricket are all invited to attend the classes, the release stated.
There is also a special appeal for female participants.
Former international umpire Eddie Nicholls, West Indies international umpire Nigel Duguid, Colin Alfred, Shannon Crawford and Nandkumar Shivsankar are among the lecturers and sessions will continue Tuesdays and Thursday of every week from 5pm at the said venue.
