Dear Editor,
It would be useful if the Minister of Housing for the sake of public convenience made application forms for house lots in Region Two available at all the Neighbourhood Democratic Council offices in the district. At present, these forms can only be obtained at the Regional Administration office at Anna Regina, and judging from my own experience recently obtaining one is not that easy.
All along, it was believed that the Housing Department in the town was the proper place from which to uplift a form, but during a visit there this turned out to be a delusion. I was advised to check some distance away at a given location. As it was I wasted valuable time owing to the slothfulness of the employees who just gazed at me in a disdainful manner. Not even for the sake of courtesy did anyone see it fit to ascertain the reason for my being there when it is their duty to help me and not behave as if they are doing me a favour.
In my humble opinion common sense should prevail and these forms should be made available right at the Housing Department. This region stretches from Pomeroon to Supenaam and it is very expensive to travel all the way from either end just to get a form at Anna Regina. With the change, unnecessary inconvenience and hardship would be eliminated once and for all.
Yours faithfully,
Baliram Persaud
