Soesdyke Falcons and Grove Hi-Tech secured convincing wins when the East Bank Football (EBFA) leg of the NAMILCO/GFF Flour Power Nat. U17 League commenced on Saturday at the Grove Community ground.
Soesdyke Falcons sent an early warning to the field, tearing apart Herstelling Raiders by an 11-0 margin. Tyrone Khan led the assault with a helmet trick in the 23rd, 31st, 65th and 67th minute while sibling Tyrell Khan scored a hat-trick in the first, 11th and 61st minute.
Chipping in with a double was Kevin Sobers in the 34th and 56th minute while Stephon Steel and Shanon Samnauth scored solitary strikes.
Meanwhile, Grove Hi-Tech dismissed Agricola Red Triangle by a 4-1 margin. Leading the home side was Mario Padmore who recorded a brace in the 43rd and 46th minutes while Threvon Pluck and Rasheed Evans assisted with solo goals in the 12th and 22nd minutes respectively.
On target in the loss was Isaiah DeLover scored in the fifth minute. Action in the event is set to continue on Saturday and Sunday at the same venue.
