WESTMORELAND, Jamaica (Observer) – A Canadian real estate agent was shot dead in West End, Westmoreland, on Friday night.
He has been identified as 35-year-old Deneis Palakai of Ontario, Canada. Two other Canadians were reportedly with him, but they escaped unhurt.
Reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit are that Palakai was in the company of a relative and a female companion in the area about 9 pm, when two armed men drove up on a motorcycle and opened fire hitting him.
The police were summoned and Palakai was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police are investigating the matter.
