In front of the largest crowd to date, Tucville and Albouystown battled to a pulsating 4-4 stalemate when the Ministry of Health/Petra Organization soft shoe championships continued on Sunday.
Dennis Edwards handed Tucville the lead in a record 34 seconds at the Santos Training Area at the Square of the Revolution, unleashing a powerful right foot strike from centre of the field, into the top right corner.
Albouystown battled back to level proceedings in the eighth minute as Roy Samuels stabbed past the advancing goalkeeper from the right side of the penalty area.
Kelsey Benjamin restored Tucville’s lead two mimutes later, skipping past the defender on the right side before finishing through the legs of the goalkeeper into the lower left corner. The tricky Benjamin further strengthened his team’s grip on the contest in the 21st minute, slotting home from the centre of the box, after collecting a left side pass from Delon Williams.
It was from this point where the contest went ‘pear shaped’ for Tucville as Albouystown levelled the matchup in the space of three minutes in the form of substitute Kemo Scott.
The lanky Scott reduced the deficit to one goal in the 23rd minute, slotting home from right side unchallenged after collecting a right side pass.
Wild celebrations then reverberated around the venue as Scott equalised in the 26th minute with a brilliant flicked on header with his back to goal into the top left corner.
Stunned by their double concession, Tucville re-established their lead in the 28th minute as Tefon Daly scored compliments of a right side shot into the top left hand corner.
Nevertheless, Albouystown would not be denied as Tevin Curry sent the crowd into a frenzy, slotting home unchallenged into the centre, after latching onto a left side corner-kick in the final moments.
In other results, Cross Street and Bent Street battled to a 3-3 draw. Jobe Caesar, Ryan Hackett and Sheldon Profit scored in the 10th, 13th and 15th minutes while for Bent Street, Konata Manning scored a hat-trick in the 12th, 14th and 17th minute.
Similarly West Front Road-Gold is Money overcame a two goal deficit to draw with Broad Street 2-2. Ryan Jones and Devon Johnson scored for Broad Street in the 12th and 19th minutes apiece while Michael Oie and Randolph Wagner scored for West Front Road in the 21st and 23rd minutes respectively.
On the other hand, Sophia defeated California Square via walkover. Meanwhile, North East La Penitence downed Young Ballers 4-2. Calvin Moore, sibling Kelvin Moore and Jamal Scott scored in the fifth, seventh and 15th minutes each while an own goal in the 27th minute completed the result.
For the losing team, Emil Cusburt and Shawn Mohammed scored in the sixth and 21st minute respectively. Meanwhile, Alexander Village upset Festival City 2-0. Ryan October recorded a double in the second and 21st minute.
Action in the event is slated to continue at the same venue on Wednesday June 15th. In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Laing Avenue will tackle Campbellville from 19:45hrs.
The third fixture at 20:30 will pit West Back Road against Channel-9 Warriors while Tucville will lock horns with North East La Penitence at 21:15hrs.
In the fifth engagement at 21:45hrs, Cross Street will tackle Globe Yard while the final contest will pit Festival City against North Ruimveldt at 22:30hrs.
