The body of a man was found on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on Saturday night after a vehicle reportedly ran over him.
Dead is Gregory Atkinson, 49, of Soesdyke. An autopsy gave the cause of death as multiple injuries but police are uncertain if the man died as a result of the vehicle running over him or otherwise.
Stabroek News learnt that at around 11:55pm on Saturday, motor vehicle GVV940 was traversing the highway at Kuru Kuru when it drove on an object. The driver told police that upon checking, he found the man lying on the road.
He said that he did not see anyone walking but only discovered the body after he felt he drove over an obstacle.
