The police are investigation a fatal accident that occurred about 1900h yesterday on Triumph Railway Embankment, ECD and which resulted in the death of a pedestrian Seenauth Persaud, 53 years, of Suraj Drive, Triumph, ECD.
Investigations, police say, revealed that the driver of motor car PKK 2320 was proceeding west along the southern side of the road, when the pedestrian allegedly crossed the road from south to north into the path of the vehicle and fell on the roadway.
He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the GPHC and died whilst receiving medical treatment. The body is at the GPHC Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
