A 15-year-old boy is now hospitalized after he was shot to his head in a daring daylight robbery today.
Around 1 pm at the Green Ice Taxi Service base on Wren Avenue, South Ruimveldt, Jihmaul Lewis, was on his bicycle in the yard when three men stormed into the yard and held the workers up. Lewis was subsequently shot to his head and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The three men are on the run and the police are currently reviewing CCTV footage.
The police this afternoon issued the following release on the shooting:
About 1400h. today, three armed men committed a robbery at a mechanic shop in South Ruimveldt, Georgetown. One of the employees allegedly had a scuffle with one of the suspects and during which one round from the suspect’s firearm struck the employee Jamal Lewis, 15 years of Wren Avenue, South Ruimveldt, in the face.
The employees were robbed of cellular phones and a small amount of cash. The suspects escaped in a silver Spacio, registration number unknown.
Jamal Lewis, is presently a patient at the G.P.H.C.
His condition is listed as serious.
Investigations are in progress.
