Mahaica Determinators and Golden Grove claimed comprehensive victories when the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) leg of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Under-17 Championship resumed yesterday.
Played at the Beterverwagting (BV) ground, Mahaica mauled Plaisance 6-0 compliments of doubles from Nigel Mansfield in the 12th and 14th minute and Gary Jardine in the 18th and 29th minute.
Chipping with strikes in the 15th and 39th minute were Julius Hamilton and Delon Adams respectively. Meanwhile, Golden Grove FC defeated Bachelor’s Adventure/Paradise 2-0 compliments of a Tefon Daly double in the 41st and 47th minute respectively.
Each victory is worth three points while a drawn encounter is worth one point each for both teams. A loss translates to zero points. Action in the event is programmed to continue today at the same venue.
