The national 15’s rugby team defeated Trinidad yesterday in the southern zone final of the Rugby America’s North (RAN) championship at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-of-Spain.
This is according to reports out of the Twin Island Republic. Guyana won the hard fought encounter 22-28.

With the win, the local ruggers will play the winner of the Cayman Islands/ Mexico game for the RAN Cup.
The Cayman Islands/ Mexico game is scheduled for July 5.
After defeating Trinidad (ranked 46) on their home turf, Guyana ranked 53 in the world will definitely make a leap in the rankings.
The local contingent is scheduled to arrive this afternoon at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport at 16:00hrs.
